With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Auggie Johnson, a cherished Shih Tzu who brought immeasurable joy and love into our lives. Born on Born on March 26, 2015 and passing away on May 18, 2025, 10 years were filled with playful antics, unwavering affection, and a spirit that touched everyone who knew him. His beautiful coat, a soft blend of white, beige, brown, and black, was as unique and lovely as his personality.

Auggie was lovingly cared for by Jay, Myles, who was his dedicated keepers and cherished companion. Auggie was, quite simply, a lovable and playful dog. His joyful spirit was infectious, and he had a remarkable way of brightening even the dullest of days. He was a truly friendly dog, showering affection on everyone he met, leaving a trail of happy smiles in his wake. Among all his human family, Auggie held a particularly special bond with his grandmother. Their connection was a source of comfort and happiness for both of them, filled with gentle moments and unspoken understanding.

Auggie also shared a very special friendship with Leo, your poodle. Despite their different breeds, they were the best of friends. Their playful interactions, filled with Leo’s energetic roughhousing, barks, and joyful “growling,” were a constant source of amusement and warmth in the house. They were especially inseparable in the quiet of the early mornings when they would venture out together, their bond evident in their every move.

A testament to his independent spirit and his love for his grandmother was Auggie’s daily pilgrimage to her house, just a couple of doors down. He would confidently trot down the driveway and street, arriving at her back door with a gentle scratch, announcing his presence. Once inside, he often made a beeline for Cashmer’s food bowl. This would sometimes drive Cashmer, my parents’ other dog, a little crazy, especially since his beloved grandmother often spoiled her with tasty human food! Auggie, however, seemed to consider Cashmer’s kibble a special treat, adding a bit of cheeky fun to his visits. Despite these little food raids, he always found his way back home, a true testament to his loyal heart.

Auggie also had a taste for adventure, particularly when it involved riding on the four-wheeler with Jay. With his long fur flowing in the wind, he was the ultimate co-pilot, his happy barks adding to the thrill of the ride. He was a true “Jerry road dog” in every sense of the word. And in his own special way, Auggie was also our steadfast guard dog, his presence bringing a sense of security and comfort to our home.

The joy and unwavering companionship Auggie brought into our lives, and the special bonds he shared with Jay, Myles and Leo will be deeply missed. His memory will forever be etched in our hearts.
